The is to design a cross-platform app to help adult to register to vote.
User Research, wireframing, interaction and visual design, prototyping and testing.
December 2022 to March 2023.
The register-to-vote app was my design for social project as part of the Google UX/IU Certificate course.
It help to reinforce my understanding and practice of design thinking in developing a valuable product. I learnt a lot and I achieved the below.
I conducted primary research and interviews to uncover the painpoints users have in trying to register to vote and moving their existing record to a new address.
My research revealed that:
During the research, I was able to identified two users groups. I created a persona each for the groups to understand their frustrations and goals. I also created mapping of user journey for each of users groups to have an understanding of the users expectation of steps to take to achieve their needs.
In preparation for conducting a usability study, I developed a script that included tasks, such as asking perticipants to search for nearest registration centre, search for nearest polling station, and to access and download registration guides document. The test sessions were unmoderated, but recorded for later analysis.
I studied the recorded test sessions, which enabled me to come up with observations that provided insights for improving the mobile ticketing app.
This project brought to open the pains elligible voters were going through in order to excercise their civic duty, which are due to inadequate information.
